L-Arginine Supplements - What is it?
L-arginine is not essential amino acids, which can have many positive effects in the performance of individuals. It is considered an "essential condition" because even if it is synthesized by the body, it is not done too little to support the growth and performance of functions to meet the needs of individuals under periods of stress (as sports competition or weight training).

L-Arginine - How it works

Arginine has many benefits for cardiovascular health. It can help lower cholesterol, and it seems to enhance immune function and healing as well. It is also a natural precursor

for the production creatine in the body (creatine is made in the body from amino acids glycine, arginine and methionine). So, it may have a "creative spares" effect, which can be beneficial for strength. It may help improve the exercise performance, support for the synthesis of proteins, and even assist in the recovery of glycogen (stored carbohydrate) stores after the workout.

L-Arginine - Proof it works
A 2002 study published in the Journal International sports medicine showed that arginine supplementation helped reduce lactate and ammonia establishment during exercise. This may help to delay muscle fatigue, which is good news for athletes. Some research shows that it improves insulin sensitivity, thus carbohydrates to be used more effectively by the body. Its principal mechanism of action is the strengthening of nitric oxide (NO) production. NO is the muscle cells is "signaling molecule" - strengthening of nitric oxide in muscle tissue may have many anabolic effects, including increased transportation of nutrients and

vasodilation (increased flow blood, which could lead to a better muscle pumps). NO Arginine increases by stimulating nitric oxide synthase, the enzyme that makes NO.
L-arginine was equivocal evidence that it can stimulate growth hormone (GH). Some studies show little effect of L-arginine as a supplement RI, while other studies, such as one published in Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise in 1999, showed good results. The publication of a study conducted at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore, has shown that two weeks of supplementation arginine in good health, the elderly has increased serum IGF-1 (insulin-like growth factoror 1) and created a positive balance of nitrogen (for a population more anabolic state of growth). Growth hormone appears to have many positive effects from the effects of muscle strengthening as a result of its conversion to IGF-1 in the liver.

Dose: Hard training athletes can certainly benefit from 5-10 g of L-arginine nine hours a day. Important Moments consuming L-arginine is 45 minutes before and after the training session to enhance the recovery process (3-5 g taken at those two times should help). However, caution is advised because, in some people, gram doses of arginine may cause stomach discomfort. Arginine has a good safety record, even in high doses of 20 g consumed daily. L-arginine can be found in tablet, capsule and powder. The powder may be the easiest way to make good amounts of arginine, unless you prefer a good number of pills to swallow.
